Sarah King Employment Solicitor
When you instruct an employment solicitor to represent you, as an employer or an employee, you want the reassurance that that person is experienced in that field. Well look no further, I qualified as a solicitor over 15 years ago. Over 13 years of this time was purely in employment law including as a partner in a niche employment law firm.
During this period, I acted for employees in some complex and high value cases. One of my cases was reported at the Employment Appeal Tribunal. I advised employees on an array of employment law matters including issues of unfair dismissal, discrimination and breach of contract claims. I conducted my own advocacy in Employment Tribunal representing these clients. As well as winning in Tribunal, I also settled many cases for clients including a high profile case for unfair dismissal, sex discrimination, equal pay and victimisation in the financial sector for over £100,000.00. I also negotiated hundreds of settlement agreements for employees achieving an increased package in almost all cases.
We also had some high profile employer clients during this period and I developed long term relationships with clients over many years. I conducted advocacy in Employment Tribunal for my employer clients too across the UK, the most memorable was a Tribunal in Belfast. I designed employment law courses for those clients too and delivered them across the UK to their managers from Southampton to Glasgow. My clients ranged from the Plc and Premiership Football club to the smaller owner managed businesses. Each one had a different culture and different needs but I got to know and understand their businesses and what they wanted from their employment law partner.
Employment Law Expert
I regularly blog on employment law news which you can find in the news section on this site. I have also written or contributed to many articles on both employment law and practice management/business issues over the years including for The Sunday Telegraph newspaper and other local newspapers/magazines. I have also given an interview on BBC local radio. I was part of the team that won the inaugural award from the Law Society “Excellence in Client Care” as well as previously winning Young Business Person of the Year for Lincolnshire.
I joined Excello Law in June 2013 as a consultant solicitor and have continued to deal solely with employment law matters. I remain a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and also sit as a part-time Employment Judge in Employment Tribunal. For more information about my career history you can look at my Linked In page.
