Employment law update 2018

Employment Law Seminar

As the way we work changes, can employment law really keep up with the pace?

2018 sees some big changes in the employment law landscape. We have the introduction of the GDPR and we will look at ensuring the HR department is compliant. We also cover the significant changes for tax treatment of settlement agreements. We also review the 10 months since the abolition of tribunal fees and the impact on tribunal users as well as a round up on holiday pay and employment status since our last seminar.

Following on from the success of our past annual seminars on Employment law issues for 21st Century businesses and Rogue Employees, this year our experienced team bring you an update on business critical issues that face your business.

Are you conscious of the developments but unsure how best to protect your business? Don’t wait until it’s too late. Join us for a complimentary seminar to identify the opportunities and threats for your business. We will cover all bases including:

• A practical employment guide to GDPR and steps that you have to take to make your HR function compliant
• Settlement agreements – the new horizon
• Holiday pay and employment status – an update
• Employment Tribunals – the changing landscape
We will look at how these all impact your business from an employment law and HR prospective. Practical guidance and tips will be given as well as time for questions and answers.

As the way we work changes, can employment law really keep up with the pace?

As there is a growing trend away from being employed 9-5 in a fixed location combined with the developments in technology, we examine whether employment law in the UK has kept up with the pace and how best to protect your business.

Are you conscious of the speed of change but unsure how best to protect your business?

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Join us for a complimentary seminar to identify the opportunities and threats for your business. We will cover all bases including:

• Employees, workers and employment status including the gig economy and the Taylor review
• Flexible working, agile working and home working – what you need to know as an employer
• The connected generation or is time to disconnect?
• Social media in work and out of hours

We will look at how these all impact on working time, health and safety and productivity providing real case studies to help you understand the opportunities and threats.

Employment Law Seminar - May 2016

Employment Law Seminar

Employee theft of valuable business property - either for their own benefit or for another employer - is a growing problem.

With just one click an employee can help themselves to your customer data, your business connections, your intellectual property or your designs. Sometimes it is the very property you have paid them hard money to develop!

• Any employee with access to the company’s electronic store room is a threat.
• Lines are often blurred between company/personal devices, business digital media and personal social media, and
• the traditional defences of restrictive covenants in employee contracts alone, just don’t cut it anymore.

Do you realise how vulnerable your business is but are not sure how best to protect yourself?

A complimentary seminar to identify the threats and possible solutions for your business. We will cover all the bases - from electronic security, employment contracts, social media policies, cultural change, and digital forensics – to help you build a robust business protection strategy.
