employment solicitor thrapstonJust a reminder of the level of fees for claims in the Employment Tribunal. To issue the claim as follows:

Type A £160
Type B £250

The hearing fee is then as follows:

Type A £230
Type B £950

Further fees are payable upon making an application. Most claims will fall into type B such as unfair dismissal and discrimination claims. Simpler claims like claims around wages fall into type A. So a type A claim will cost £390 with any applications being made and a Type B claim will cost £1200 without any applications being made.

The Tribunal regularly release statistics around the number of claims and it will be interesting to see the impact that these fees (introduced on 29th July 2013) will have on the number of claims issued in the forthcoming months.
