On the 6th April there will be the usual annual increases to statutory payments. The cap on a week’s pay for calculating statutory redundancy will increase to £489 (from £479) which will also be used for calculating the basic award in the Tribunal. The increase in the maximum for an unfair dismissal claim brings the statutory cap to £80,541.00. There is no change for the other cap being 12 months gross salary for that employee so for many this change in the upper limit will have little impact.
The limit on guarantee payment has increased from £26.00 to £27.00
