employment courts onlineOne of the current reforms being considered is the use of courts online including the potential for employment courts online.  Lord Justice Briggs has recently been carrying out a review of civil courts to look where efficiencies can be made. The report is due out before the end of the year but will be looking at the court estate and ways in which justice can be delivered.

The review is considering the use of online courts in simple employment law claims such as money claims online but the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA) has responded urging caution is taken with such a move.  It said that such online claims should only be used where the relationship has ended otherwise it could damage the employment relationship and lead to further claims down the line.  The report will also make proposals for the deployment of judges and look at other ways of making efficiencies.

(Our news section brings you the latest news on published judgments and cases which are all in the public domain. We only comment on these published cases and not cases of our actual clients. Publication of the case or comments is a public service designed to make the courts and tribunals more accessible and ensures justice is seen to be done. This is why court and tribunal judgments are published publicly.)
